Fire breaks at luxury Istanbul hotel; 3 affected by smoke

A fire broke out Friday at a luxury hotel located on the grounds of a former Ottoman palace in Istanbul, news reports said.
The fire broke out on the fourth floor of the five-story Ciragan Palace Kempinski hotel, in a section that was undergoing refurbishment. HaberTurk television said three people involved in the renovation work were treated for smoke inhalation.
Employees and guests were evacuated from the hotel located on the shores of the Bosporus. Thick smoke covered the building as firefighters brought the blaze under control.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
The former Ottoman palace was severely damaged by a fire in 1910. It was restored in the early 1990s and a modern hotel building was constructed in an area adjacent to the palace.
