China should fulfill its responsibility to defend the U.N. charter in the face of aggression by Russia, Jorge Toledo, the ambassador of the European Union to China, said on Friday. Toledo made the comment as part of a speech to dozens of diplomats at a ceremony in Beijing to mark the one year anniversary of the start of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
