Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy arrived at Rome’s Ciampino airport on Saturday, a political source said.
During his stay in Rome, he is expected to meet Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Pope Francis, and Italy’s President Sergio Mattarella.
The pontiff said in late April that the Holy See is involved in a peace mission to end the war in Ukraine.
