Hezbollah member killed in Israeli strike in S. Lebanon

A Hezbollah member was killed on Sunday in an Israeli raid that targeted his car in the center of Kunin, a municipality located in southern Lebanon, Lebanese military sources told Xinhua.
The military sources, speaking on condition of anonymity, said a drone fired two air-to-surface missiles at the car, causing it to burn and resulting in the death of its driver, Ismail Ali Al-Zein.
Hezbollah has not yet commented on the incident.
The military sources said that Israel carried out 15 air strikes on eight towns and villages in the border area in southern Lebanon, destroying 12 homes and damaging about 45 others, and fired artillery toward nine towns and villages.
The Lebanon-Israel border has been witnessing increased tension since Oct. 8, 2023, after Lebanese armed group Hezbollah fired dozens of rockets toward Israel in support of the Hamas attack on Israel the previous day, prompting Israel to respond by firing heavy artillery toward southeastern Lebanon.
The confrontations between Hezbollah and Israel have killed 396 people on the Lebanese side, including 255 Hezbollah members and 73 civilians, according to Lebanese security sources.
