A helicopter crashed Tuesday morning in Rizal province, east of Manila, killing one person and injuring four others, a local official said.
In a social media post, Pililla town Mayor John Masinsin said the helicopter, carrying five people on board, including two foreign nationals, went down in the town shortly past 7 a.m. local time.
Masinsin said that of the four injured passengers, two were in critical condition while the other two sustained minor injuries. The injured were brought to a provincial hospital for medical treatment.
Police and emergency responders were immediately deployed to the crash site to conduct rescue and retrieval operations, the mayor added.
