At least five people were killed early Saturday in a head-on collision between an SUV and a station wagon on a highway in southern Peru’s Ica region.
The crash occurred at around 4:30 a.m. at kilometer 352 of the Pan-American Highway South, on the stretch between Ica and Palpa, state-run Andina news agency reported, citing the Peruvian National Police.
Preliminary investigations suggested the SUV driver may have crossed into the opposite lane, causing the collision.
