The Peruvian government has extended for 30 days the “state of emergency” declared last October in the capital city of Lima and the neighboring province of Callao, local media reported Thursday.
The measure, which will take effect from Nov. 21, aims to strengthen actions against crime and other forms of violence that affect internal order, said the country’s official news outlet El Peruano.
