MTR report mainatance failure reason for delay in communte

After the MTR problem yesterday, when thousand of commuters had to look for alternative transport to work, Chan Han-pan, Chairman of the Legislative Council’s Transport Panel, stated that it has decided to establish a railway affairs task force to follow up on the incident and has recommended investigating from the perspectives of training, internal monitoring, and procedures.
In a radio program, Chan stated that the cause of the accident is estimated to be the failure to properly close the signal box, or a collision between a maintenance vehicle and signal equipment.
He urged the MTR to install an artificial intelligence system to detect objects on the tracks and to strengthen staff training.
