Interim Force in Lebanon<br \/>(UNIFIL) said that Israeli drones dropped four grenades close to<br \/>peacekeepers who were working to clear roadblocks hindering<br \/>access to a U.N. position on Tuesday morning.<br \/>&#8220;This is one of the most serious attacks on UNIFIL personnel<br \/>and assets since the cessation of hostilities agreement of last<br \/>November,&#8221; the UNIFIL said in a statement on Wednesday.<br \/>One grenade impacted within 20 metres and three within<br \/>approximately 100 metres of UN personnel and vehicles.<br \/>The UNIFIL said that the Israeli military had been<br \/>informed in advance of UNIFIL&#8217;s road clearance work in the area,<br \/>southeast of the village of Marwahin.<br \/>Last week, the United Nations Security Council<br \/>unanimously<br \/>extended<br \/>the peacekeeping mission in Lebanon until the end of 2026,<br \/>after which a year-long orderly and safe drawdown and withdrawal<br \/>will commence.<br \/>Established in 1978, UNIFIL patrols Lebanon&#8217;s southern<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The U.N.
